Exodus Church is part of the Presbyterian Church in America—a Reformed, evangelical denomination rooted in the truths of the Protestant Reformation. For those familiar with other Presbyterian traditions, Exodus is the area’s only PCA congregation.

As the saying goes, “Springfield is a big small town.” Indeed, Springfield is a unique blend of business and government, education and healthcare, arts and agriculture—all in the midst of some of the most fertile farmland in the world. Many have deep generational roots; others are just starting out alone. What do we have in common?

Once a solitary stop along Route 66, Springfield has evolved into more than just a crossroads of interstates. Though our most famous citizen is a politician named Lincoln, many others have launched ideas and causes from here that have reached the nation and the world.
At Exodus Church, we’re part of the heart of central Illinois. Whether helping parents raise kids or praying on-site for leaders in the Illinois Senate, we seek to be a church community where people are redeemed in Christ, rooted in grace, and reaching out with the hope of the gospel.

Why “Exodus”?
The Exodus story in the Bible is all about redemption—God rescuing His people from slavery and leading them to a new life with Him. It is the paradigm of salvation in the Old Testament, constantly recalled by prophets and poets as the defining act of God’s grace.
In the New Testament, Jesus inaugurates an even greater Exodus story by way of His life, death, and resurrection. He rescues us from sin, roots us in grace, and sends us to reach a world in need with hope —all the while sheltering us in His amazing grace.
